IFT member efforts to stop two-tier pensions pay off.
Print E-mail

State Sen. Don Harmon (D-Oak Park) has tabled amendments to House Bill 2643 that would have established a two-tier pension plan for all state-funded systems and instituted reductions in pension funding and retiree health insurance. Motions to table the amendments were filed by the senator today in Senate Executive Committee. The committee action stops consideration of two-tier pension systems during this session of the General Assembly.

Thanks to IFT members who contacted their state senator and thanks to Sen. Harmon for tabling these harmful amendments.
