Bargaining Units
Furlough Days must be bargained with each union representing state employees as it is a mandatory subject of bargaining. Mandatory subjects of bargaining are wages, hours and working conditions.

IFPE RC-45 Members ratified their contract by an overwhelming margin. 109 ballots were received. 106 voted Accept and 3 voted Reject. Final contracts will now be prepared and available to all members. A special thank you to the RC-45 Bargaining Team, B.J. Dick, Tom Kosowski, Barry Snavely, and Tony Mileur and IFT Field Service Director Terry Reed for their time and hardwork in bargaining this contract to a fair and equitable agreement for all members. SPRINGFIELD – March 13, 2009. Governor Pat Quinn announced that he will keep the Illinois Department of Transportation’s Division of Traffic Safety in Springfield.

IFPE RC-33 Meat and Poultry Inspectors ratified their contract by a 66% Margin of Eligible voters.
|
On June 2, 2009 all received ballots were counted, and by overwhelming majority the RC-29 membership ratified the contract.

IFPE President, BJ Dick has appointed Randy Hawkins to the position of Area Vice President for the Cultural and Natural Resources Unit, RC-56 due to the retirement of long-time Union Brother Neil Booth.

The Illinois Federation of Public Employees, Local 4408 RC-29 Regulatory Unit had several things going in 2007.

As members of the RC29 Bargaining Unit of the IFPE, we serve the citizens of the State of Illinois in three critical areas:
- insuring compliance with State laws and regulations,
- providing security at State facilities, and
- as sworn law enforcement officers.

As members of the RC33 Bargaining Unit of the IFPE, we serve the citizens of the State of Illinois in our capacity as Meat & Poultry Inspectors. Working through the Illinois Department of Agriculture's Bureau of Meat and Poultry Inspection, we are responsible for protecting consumers with regard to the wholesomeness and proper labeling of meat and poultry products.

As members of the RC45 Bargaining Unit of the IFPE, we serve the citizens of the State of Illinois as the Automotive Unit of several state agencies, including the Illinois Departments of Central Management Services, Transportation, Corrections, Natural Resources and Agriculture.

The Cultural and Natural Resource Managers bargaining unit was recently recognized be the Illinois Labor Relations Board and is comprised of all supervisors employed as Site Superintendents and Public Service Administrator (PSA) Option 5 on March 6, 2006. These employees are employed by the Department of Natural Resources, the Department of Agriculture, the Department of Human Services and the Historic Preservation Agency.

The Attorney General is the state's chief legal officer and is responsible for protecting the public interest of the state and its people. Members of the IFPE employed in the Office of the Attorney General provide services that cover a broad range of issues, reaching every corner of Illinois.

The Office of the Secretary of State is the most diverse of its kind in the nation. From issuing driver's licenses and registering vehicles to promoting organ donation awareness, overseeing the Illinois State Library and administering the state's literacy efforts, members of the IFPE employed in the Office of the Secretary of State directly touch the lives of nearly everyone in Illinois.
