South Suburban Support Chapter Hosts Annual Fall Luncheon
  

It's all smiles at South Suburban as Clifton Cobb sports his new CCCTU hat while Berdy Kuiken and Randy Barnette look on.

On Tuesday, Oct. 13, the South Suburban Support Staff held their annual luncheon meeting in the theater foyer on their campus. All was joyful considering their five year contract including raises in the 5.35% region. Chapter Chair Berdyne Kuiken recognized the social committee under the leadership of Bob Pinkerton for arranging the event and the delicious buffet.
 
CCCTU Assistant to the President Randy Barnette updated everyone on state and local politics that naturally segued into a pitch for COPE. The speech worked; people voluntarily stepped up and signed up in the interest of increasing our political influence in Springfield. As Barnette noted, “In dealing with pensions and job security issues, we need access to the legislators and, at times, access to the governor’s office.”
