The Friday, Nov. 20, 2009, Union House Meeting will be held at 4:00 in the Western Stage Room (14th floor) of the Chicago Mart Plaza Holiday Inn.
The Holiday Inn is directly adjacent to the Merchandise Mart at 350 N. Orleans. It is accessible through the Merchandise Mart on the first floor by exiting its west side exit and crossing Orleans Street to the hotel. A reception will follow afterwards in the Union Office. Allow extra time for the extra walking from your car or public transit vehicle. The Retiree Chapter officers and House reps. will meet at 3:00 PM at the Union Office.

(Nov. 16, 2009) All the candidates for governor in both parties have expressed their concerns on whether state pensions should be changed and if the 3% cost of living adjustment (COLA) should be changed. (Nov. 10, 2009) Former CCCTU President Norm Swenson’s work has just become part of history. Twelve movers’ cartons of documents are being transferred to the Walter P. (Nov. 4, 2009) Chapter Chair Norm Swenson led the retirees to “Thoroughly Modern Millie” on Nov. 4, a Broadway musical adaptation of George Roy Hill’s 1967 film with Julie Andrews about flappers in New York at the Drury Lane Theatre, Oakbrook Terrace. (Oct. 27, 2009) Three thousand unionists, social activists and members of the religious community responded to AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka’s call for the Showdown in Chicago. (Oct. 5, 2009) Harper Faculty Chapter Chair Tom Dowd, Harper New Faculty Committee Chair Roger House and others are helping a number of newly hired professors with the Harper College Mentoring Program. This 10-year-old program has changed over the years to become a vital way of integrating new teachers into becoming at home at Harper.
