(Oct. 5, 2009) Harper Faculty Chapter Chair Tom Dowd, Harper New Faculty Committee Chair Roger House and others are helping a number of newly hired professors with the Harper College Mentoring Program. This 10-year-old program has changed over the years to become a vital way of integrating new teachers into becoming at home at Harper. (Mar. 28-29, 2008) At the NEA-AFT Higher Education Joint Conference in Washington, D.C., Podesta, the president of the Center for American Progress, called for increased government spending to make American workers competitive in the global marketplace.
